Echinacea angustifolia root is a deeply respect plant ally in the herbalism world! Taken at the first signs of flu-like illness, it can prevent symptoms from becoming too debilitating.
Echinacea root is a very special herbal remedy indeed! In the tincture form, it can feel a little spicy and fizzy in your mouth and digestive tract. When we taste that, we know it is working.
This echinacea root tincture is absolutely a must-have if you want to build a basic herbal apothecary at home!
Taking several dropperfuls of the tincture upon the first signs of illness can help keep symptoms from becoming overly intense. Rest, lots of fluid, broth warm baths and echinacea are all great rememdies for the winter bugs that sometimes slow us down. (Maybe we need to slow down?!)
You will receive further information and instruction upon receipt of your package!
The great thing about tinctures is that they truly have an indefinite shelf life. Even though you may use this up quickly (dosage is higher for echinacea root), you can keep it for several seasons and use with no issues.
Tennessee foraged Elderberries turned into a delicious elixir for you to take during the winter blues!
Elderberries are so delicious and medicinal! They have become an herb that even people outside of herbalism know well as immune support.
The Elderberry elixir is made from locally forage elderberries, 100 proof vodka and raw Tennessee honey. You can take a dropperful daily as an immune boost or even take three dropperfuls per day at the first sign of illness.
Elderberries a nourishing, delicious way to promote whole-body health during the winter and all year long!!
Eleuthero Root is one of my favorite herbs. It is considered an adaptogen, in fact it was the first herb labelled as such. Adaptogenic herbs help our bodies become more resilient in the face of stress.
There is actually a particular part of the brain that is impacted by adaptogenic herbs. It is called the HPA axis and it connects your brain (nervous system) and endocrine system.
H - hypothalamus
P - pituitary gland
A - adrenals
Basically adaptogens assist your brain and adrenals in talking to each other in a more efficient and harmonious way. That way, you are secreting stress hormones in the right quantities and at the right times.
Cortisol (a stress hormone) is not bad. We NEED cortisol to be able to get out of bed, to be motivated to do things in our lives, to make quick turns in traffic and avoid an accident, etc. etc. etc.
The issue is that many people have low levels of cortisol in the morning (when they should be higher) and high levels of cortisol throughout the day and night (when they should be lower). It's also an issue when you have smoldering, higher-than-normal levels of cortisol throughout the day.
Adaptogens like Eleuthero, taken daily over time, harmonize your brain/adrenal connection which then harmonizes the appropriate secretion of stress hormones by your body.
(An elixir is a tincture that also contains honey!)
NOTE: Recommendations on dosage and usage will arrive with your package!
Milky Oats come from the oat plant. That´s right! The same plant that gives you oatmeal. Avena Sativa.
Oats are actually in the grass family. I plant them by seed in my garden and when they start to form that seed, before the seed becomes hard and mature, I harvest them as milky oats.
The seed at the milky oat stage is soft; when you squeeze it a white substance comes out. Those milky oats are blended up with 100 proof vodka (which is 50% alcohol) and left to macerate for several weeks before being strained and bottled as a tincture.
The tincture is known as a nervine. It calms and nourishes the nervous system. It can used daily for support in this stressful modern world we live in.
NOTE: Recommendations on dosage and usage will arrive with your package!
